Handprint Earth Craft For Earth Day [Free Template] (2025)

Earth Day is a great time to get the kids involved in some fun, hands-on activities. One of our favorites is this handprint Earth craft.

It’s easy for even the youngest child to do, and it’s a great way to teach them about our planet. Plus, it’s just plain fun!

To make your own handprint Earth, you’ll need some paper, scissors, glue, and our printable template.

This easy Earth craft is so festive and fun and another one of our growing easy Earth Day crafts for kids.

Earth Day Craft For Kids

Supplies

• Colored card stock
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Large pom pom
• Glue dots
• Earth craft template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)

Directions

Download the Earth craft template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Trace your child’s handprint on the green card stock. Glue your child’s handprint near the middle of the blue Earth, then glue the other green land masses around the circle.

Glue the eyes to the middle of the Earth.

Create the Earth’s mouth by gluing the red paper to the bottom of the black mouth. Trim off any of the excess red card stock. Glue it in the middle of the Earth, just below the eyes.

Make the Earth’s party hat by cutting out thin strips of paper and gluing them onto the hat base on a diagonal. Use a glue dot to secure the large pom pom to the top of the hat. Glue the hat to the top of the Earth.

Take the completed Earth and glue it to a piece of dark blue paper.

To make it even more festive, cut small pieces of confetti from multi-colored paper and glue them all along the dark blue background.

That’s all there is to it!

If you want to make this craft shorter, you can always skip the background and confetti. We seriously love how happy and festive this little Earth craft turned out and kids love the party aspect of it.
