GSP says he will fight again - but only in two years time (2024)

According to the man himself, Georges St-Pierre has not had his last fight.

He’s almost certainly had his last fight in a UFC octagon, though.

The UFC legend says he will explore exhibition and charity fights once his contract with the orginisation expires.

“My contract with UFC will finish in almost two years, and I will be free—and I will still be in shape.

“I’m still a fighter and an entertainer. If there is an exhibition fight or a novelty fight for charity, then never say never,” said St-Pierre.

GSP, one of the greatest champions in UFC history, will be 42 when his UFC deal runs out.

‘Rush’ had received an offer from Oscar De La Hoya for a boxing match and he wanted to take him up on it, but UFC boss Dana White blocked the fight.

“Trust me, if this fight would have happened, I would have moved to Los Angeles to [famed boxing trainer] Freddie Roach’s gym and made a full training camp, leaving no stone unturned,” he said. “Unfortunately, Dana White didn’t want it.

“It is what it is. I can’t be mad at him. People have said to take him to court, but that makes me look like the bad guy, and I don’t want to spend money on lawyers and all that.”

White, quite famously, does not get on with De La Hoya and he hasn’t allowed any current UFC stars to get involved in exhibition fights, Triller, the Paul brothers or any of that stuff.

Ben Askren had retired when he took the fight with Jake Paul and Tryon Woodley’s UFC contract had expired when he decided to take the fight, too.

St-Pierre still keeps himself in incredible shape and did so on the chance that he might get to have the dream fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Khabib has now retired and White showed little interest in making that happen anyway, so now he is training guys at Tristar gym in Monreal, Canada and staying in shape that way.
