This page takes you through the Hotland area in a genocidewalkthroughfor Undertale. It is recommended you complete apacifistrun first using ourPacifist Walkthroughif you want to experience all the endings.

After making your way through Waterfall you can finally start on the Hotlands.


You will need to kill 40 creatures as well as Mettaton to meet the criteria for a genocide run in these sections

From the first save point in the Hotlands, head east to find a large building marked 'LAB' and go inside.

You can grab some noodles from the fridge and as you continue you'll meet up with Mettaton who'll tell you that Alphys has been evacuating everyone, then he'll leave.

Head east through the lab and out the back.

At this point, you may start to encounter new creatures:

The path is fairly linear for a while,so continue on it past the conveyor belts north and you'll come to a save point. You can't go north here so turn east and step on the arrow to be launched across the gap.

Use these squares to make your way east and then walk south to find a quickly switching square and conveyor belts. Step on it while it's facing left to claim the frypan or 'burnt pan' - it's a weapon with an attack value of 10, it also makes consumable items heal 4 more HP.

There's nothing to the right, so head back up and take the squares north and then west to get to the next area.

Continue east through a bunch of disabled lasers.

Normally there would be puzzles up ahead but they have been disabled so make your way North through the large doors.

Heat up Pyrope twice to spare it - be careful, this raises it's attack.

You can choose to cool down to lower the attack.

Royal Guards

As you continue north you'll come to two guards who aren't so happy about you killing Undyne.

It shouldn't take much to kill one of the guards - probably one or two attacks at this point. The other will become more aggressive but he should be just as easy.

Continue east through a kitchen area to move forward - or if you still need to make your quota it's a good time to grind and wrack up those kills.

You'll come to an elevator - go inside and choose "LeftFloor 3", to end up at a spider bake sale.

Spiders

Here you can once again purchase donuts or cider from the webs but this time they are 9999G as opposed to around 7. Ignore them and move forward.

Next are more vents with launchpads and more block puzzles that you don't have to do.

Use the launchpads to go east, out the door, and to the next save point - definitely use it then keep heading east to a spider corridor.

As you move through the spider corridor you will become trapped in some thick webbing where Muffet has trapped you.

Muffet

This battle can go down a few different ways.

Don't eat any spider treats infront of Muffet or she will spare you.

Muffet will turn yourheart purple which means you can only move by snapping to the three lines. She'll send spiders along them to attack you, donuts which will bounce around the square and croissants which boomerang back.

Sometimes her pet will appear and chase you upwards while you still have to dodge spiders.

Once you successfully avoid her pet for the third round she will offer to spare you - don't let her.

Realistically it shouldn't take you much to kill Muffet at this point. If you want to see all the dialogue before you do chose to 'struggle' until the end.

Continue east past a castle of some kind then North to the resort.

MTT rESORT

Inside the MTT Resort in the main area is a fountain and a save point, to the left is a restaurant and the right is where the rooms people stay in are located. - it will all be empty due to the evacuation.


If you go back out the front and around the east side to the back you can take weapons, armor, or a key that will open the house next to Napstablook's in the Wetlands but none of this is necessary.

Instead head north through the main passageway to go to the core.

The Core

From the first save point in the inn, head North through the exit.

You could make your way straight through the lift but you will need to keep killing creatures and you may want to explore for more items. Head through the left door to get started.

Here you'll start to encounter new creatures:

Sing with Knight Knight. This may take several goes before you can spare her. Her attacks can be difficult to dodge so be careful.

Next up you'll have to hit a switch to continue. Alphys will give you some bad advice about the orders the lasers will appear in. Instead, they'll be blue, blue, then orange, so stay still until the last laser.

Even though Alphys is making a lot of mistakes at the moment you need to keep following her directions regardless, so keep heading right. If you ignore her and go north at the cross roads you'll have to have another battle.

Next up is a path with more lasers. Dr Alphys will turn them off for you, but as you make your way across she'll call you again staying to stay still. The lasers will reappear and you'll have to move in intervals when they've turned off. They will flicker just before coming back on giving you plenty of time to stop.

Carry on to find another save point and keep going North. If you want a free 100g go east at the first opportunity then north again. If you're not too fussed then keep heading north until you can't go any further and turn east onto another smaller path.

Keep going east down a corridor with some deactivated lasers, past a north turn, and to the end where you have to go north. You'll find a save point and a room split in all directions.

Left and to the north is a Glamburger in a trash can, right and to the north is 100G.

Stay around here and make sure you get enough kills before heading all the way east.

At the end of this path, you'll come to a large door, a save point, and an elevator. The elevator can take you back down to the MTT Inn before you entered the core if you want to stock back up on items. If not, head into the door to face Mettaton.

MettatonNeo Boss Battle

Mettaton will decide you are a threat to all life, not just monsters. He decides you need to be elminated.

Mettaton will transform into Mettaton Neo to face you.

The only 'Action' you can do is Check which will reveal he has an attack of 90 and only a Defense of 9.

He will just stand there. You only need to hit him once to end him.

From here you can continue to the next area
