leonard b It's a most human story. It's all about the struggle and it isn't pretty Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/05/23 Full Review Hector Very different, more about an unconventional relationship brought about a common bond. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/25/23 Full Review Aleshia M Totally not expected, a little drawn out, still an awesome love story. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Damian M Aside from the overt love story wrapped in horror and gore, the movie also illustrated the importance of following your intuition when a person doesn't seem quite right (as in Sully's character). Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Sam First my man Luca G. imitates 70s editing with Suspiria, now he's moved to imitating the 80s. I could never be more happy.Guadagnino is seriously one of my favorite directors working today, and this movie solidifies him as one of the most diverse as well.Road Trip movies have been dead since the mid 2010s, and it's pretty easy to see why. They mostly feature inexperienced (or negligent) directors who don't have enough creativity to keep the shot composition from looking stale as hell. Granted, a hard thing to do when a lot of your movie is in a car. Another problem is structure. When your movie has a built in road map and the goal of the movie is to get to point B, it's easy to feel like the movie isn't going anywhere unexpected. But Luca G. doesn't give a sh*t about your goddang genre conventions.Every shot look fresh and distinct, not just in terms of composition, but also in terms of setting. The main characters go to some of the most ugly, lame, boring states in America, and somehow they all feel distinct and beautiful in their own separate way.The script constantly keeps you guessing, to the point where I was terrified and ecstatic to see what the next scene had in store for me.Timmy-chan was incredible as always. His character was definitely a slow burn, but once it gets to the scene that ties his character up... Wow.The female lead (sorry I don't know her name) was also fantastic. She feels like a wounded animal, and a hungry predator but the more you read into her performance, it becomes more obvious that she's just a girl trying to figure her sh*t out. There are moments in this movie that would feel laughable and cringe if done by a less convincing performer.Case in point, Timmy-chan's sister. You ever see a performance so bad that you wonder if their character is supposed to be mentally handicapped? I don't know why Anna Cobb was allowed to give a performance this bad. I did not believe a single word her character was saying, and she almost ruined every scene she was in.But aside from that, everything was incredible. This is one of my favorite Guadagnino joints, and I'm so excited to see it in theaters again. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Amber This movie was overall one of the best pictures, due to it's graphic nature i dont recommend to anyone who is sensitive to gore. Other than that, I enjoyed the story line and the portrayal of characters. The acting was some of the best I have seen. Bones and All | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Wenlei Ma News.com.au The film is a different, provocative way to consider an all-encompassing, all-consuming love. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 10, 2022 Full Review Bones and All | Rotten Tomatoes (2) David Stratton The Australian As the young lovers, Chalamet and Russell do their best with the uncompelling material. Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 9, 2022 Full Review Bones and All | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Larushka Ivan-Zadeh Metro Newspaper (UK) Dreamily shot, it’s all so achingly hip it hurts. But after two hours and 10 minutes of slow-burn meandering, I was hungry for more meat on these bones. Dec 3, 2022 Full Review Bones and All | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Damon Wise Deadline Hollywood Daily There is a lot to chew on here, about people who feel disenfranchised, unloved and unwanted. The ending may disappoint, but it also ensures the film will have a life as an imperfect masterpiece, the best kind of cult film, after all. Sep 19, 2023 Full Review Bones and All | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Nuha Hassan Nuha Hassan Guadagnino lights up every scene in the movie with breathtaking visuals that navigate the push and pull of the love story. Sep 8, 2023 Full Review Bones and All | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Gayle Sequeira Film Companion Desire and danger are two sides of the same coin in Bones And All, a blood-soaked romance that juxtaposes the yearning for touch with the craving for flesh. It’s a cannibal love story that tugs at the heart, even as its characters go for the jugular. Aug 18, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
