How to Make a Carrot co*cktail

1 — In a co*cktail shaker, add the sliced ginger. Muddle the ginger to release its flavors. If you prefer a stronger ginger kick, muddle a bit more.

2 — To the shaker (without ice), add the carrot juice, vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white. Dry shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.

3 — Add ice to the shaker and shake again for another 15-20 seconds. This chills the co*cktail and further incorporates the flavors.

4 — Strain the co*cktail into a chilled glass using a fine mesh strainer to ensure a smooth texture. Discard any small ginger or ice particles.

5 — Optional: Garnish with mini-carrots and/or edible flowers.

Recipe Notes and Tips

  • Dry shake with egg white:When adding the egg white, dry shake the ingredients first (shake without ice) to create a rich foam. Then, shake with ice to chill the co*cktail.
  • Experiment with vodka varieties:Try different varieties of vodka to find one that complements the ginger and carrot flavors. Some may prefer a clean and neutral vodka, while others may enjoy a hint of botanicals. Bourbon is also another popular option when it comes to carrot drinks, especially if you want a carrot whiskey co*cktail.
  • Play with spices:Feel free to experiment with additional spices, such as a dash of ground cinnamon or a twist of black pepper, to add complexity to the co*cktail.
